Aerobugs is an innovative solution to address chemical usage during fresh food production.
Aerobugs uses UAV technology (drones) to efficiently and effectively dispense biological
insects to manage harmful pests without use of chemicals. This innovative design and
process is a very environmentally friendly way to address these common on-farm challenges and significantly
reduces chemical usage. This is the first of its type in Australia and the world.
Agricultural and horticultural industries and farmers are all becoming more aware of the
scientific limitation of miticide and insecticide chemicals with regard to residues and
resistance. Integrated pest management principles are becoming more widely known and
accepted and is seen as a fundamental strategy for farming in the future.
Aerobugs marries a spreading service with the beneficial bugs to provide the perfect
cocktail to address pest pressure in a cost effective, efficient and effective manner.
Aerobugs has spent eight years developing, designing and testing prototypes with eight
versions being scientifically assessed for size, quality, efficacy, weight distribution, resilience
and ease of use.
The product has been patented in Australia since November 2015 for a period of eight
years.
